New Music | Los Dorados | Ropeadope Sur

Our neighbors to the south are standing strong and bringing new music to elevate our colklective positive power. Enter Los Dorados, formed at the beginning of the 2000’s and joined by a common interest in exploring new sounds. Daniel Zlotnik (sax), Demián Gálvez (guitar), Carlos Maldonado (bass), Rodrigo Barbosa (drums), and DJ Rayo (turntables) have developed a project where improvisation and spontaneity play an essential role. The band has always stood out with the electrifying energy of their live performances, and with each album they have stretched genre boundaries with a resulting organic musical presentation.

Continuing the ‘Dorado Sound’, Los Dorados is back with Nueva Luz, a full length album set for release on July 8. Nueva Luz is not exploration of technical prowess, it is a journey in time and space. One feels an immediate removal from the present, like the start of a great movie. Musical exploration takes you to a distant time in the past and future, where the rich depth of history, the land, and the people are in the process of unfolding. One can feel the sense of promise, and the undercurrent of humans on the land for many generations. This reconnection brings a sense of deep relief and calm in our chaotic times.
